What anneal does today, how to use it, and what is not built yet.
How it works
Four steps, none of which need an account.
Open it — there is nothing to sign up for
Anneal runs entirely in this browser today. There is no account, no server holding your data, and nothing to configure before you start.
Make a folder, then a deck
Folders group decks; decks hold cards. Give each one a name, a hand-drawn icon and a colour — or press “surprise me” and take what you're given.
Add cards
A card is a prompt and an answer. Open a deck and add them one at a time; they show up in the list underneath as you go.
Review what's due
Review shows one prompt at a time. Try to recall it, reveal, then rate how it went — again, hard, good or easy. The scheduler decides when you see it next, and the rating buttons show you when that will be before you press one.
What's here
Everything below is built and working. Habits, tasks and accountability partnerships are not — they are what is being built next.
A library you arrange
Four ways to lay the same cards out — fanned, as a grid, as a stack, or as a carousel. The layout is remembered between visits.
Spaced repetition
Scheduling uses FSRS, a fitted memory model rather than a fixed interval multiplier. Each card comes back near the point you would otherwise forget it.
A streak calendar
Every day you review something is recorded. The calendar shows the month or the whole year, and the streak counts days you actually did the work.
Your data, exportable
Everything lives in this browser. Export the whole library to a JSON file from your profile and import it anywhere else — folders, decks, cards, scheduling and streak history all come across.
Light and dark, and sound
Both themes are first-class. Every sound is synthesised on the fly rather than loaded, and the whole thing can be muted from the top right.
A sample library you can open
It is the real interface with a seeded library, so you can see how it behaves before putting anything of your own in. Nothing typed there is kept.
